Bona Wave 2K is a 2-component water-based polyurethane topcoat designed for heavy-duty residential and light-to-moderate commercial timber floors. It delivers genuine 2K durability — strong wear, scuff, scratch, and chemical resistance — without the complexity or VOC load of solvent-based systems. A clear, non-yellowing finish with fast recoat times and a practical pot life for full-floor applications.

- Sand to a clean, uniform scratch profile
- Apply 1 coat compatible Bona primer:
- Prime Classic UX — standard timber species, natural colouration
- Prime Intense — high tannin species (Blackbutt, Tallowwood), richer colouration
- Prime White — where a whitened appearance is required
- Inter-coat abrasion, then apply 2 coats Bona Wave 2K

Is Wave 2K suitable for commercial floors?
Yes — for light to moderate commercial traffic. For high traffic intensity (retail, hospitality, public areas), Bona Traffic HD is the right spec.
Does it require mixing before use?
Yes — Part B (hardener) must be added to Part A and mixed thoroughly. Pot life is 4 hours at 20°C after mixing.
Do I need a primer?
Yes — a compatible Bona primer is required on bare timber. See Prime Classic UX (standard species) or Prime Intense (high tannin species).
How long before I can use the floor?
Light traffic after 24 hours; full cure in 7 days under normal conditions.
